Italy is perhaps the most quintessentially chic of all the world’s nations. Just observe how they dress. Hell, even the poor dress like they’ve got money!

Other images conjured up by this country might include the world’s sexiest sports cars, and food which is popular practically everywhere. Not to mention their ice-cream!

Home of some 59 million people, Italy is the world’s seventh largest nation in terms of GDP, and according to www.internetworldstats.com, 52.9 percent of its population is online at this time.

It is also a nation of contrasts. For example, most politicians are geriatric by European standards. And yet, this is the same country to have a porn star as a politician in the shape of La Cicciolina – indicating an overall healthy tolerance to sexuality and porn.

GDP is often used as a false indicator of wealth; in Italy infrastructures are matchable in quality with the third world's ones; telecommunications are structured in order to squeeze users, just as the bank, financial and insurance systems; users spend time on line in most cases during office ours, using company's pc and surfing around every possible entertaining social network. Adult must be hided from colleagues and friends, because the average italian is world champion hypocrite.

No freedom of speech, and be careful not to show up talking on the street with a hooker because you could be subjected to expensive fines. Cicciolina was elected by a legal number of citizens (all belonging to the same political radical group) in order to symbolize their line of protesting the system. Tolerance has nothing to do with that. In Italy there is tolerance for murders, government assassins and massacres; no tolerance for citizen's little vices. .
