Mass follows in general are not good. They are a red flag to get you tagged as a spammer. Plus no one wants to follow anyone that is generated, has two or three tweets, and is following 2000 people with no one following them.
It's much better to grow your followers organically instead of being banned repeatedly from Twitter.

It's actually pretty awesome for some things. More so personal use to keep in contact with friends or follow favorite websites. Otherwise yeah, about 90% of it is crappy spam which is caught on to rather quickly. There is some quality to it overall though. I find out news faster from it and it also forces the news at times, at least in the states where we barely hear international news as a public.Originally Posted by M O
