Mobile Payment Processor DIMOCO Expands to More Countries

recently announced a 261-percent increase in its mobile payment transaction volume for virtual goods between September 2010 and September 2011.
YNOT EUROPE – Mobile payment provider DIMOCO has expanded its network to serve business customers and end users in the Russian, Finnish, Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish and Spanish markets. The DIMOCO mobile transaction network now encompasses 19 countries and approximately 583 million mobile subscribers.

Austria-based DIMOCO operates, develops and markets a mobile payment transaction hub that allows cellular operators to provide business customers with a mechanism for billing digital and virtual content. The company specializes in micropayments.

“Our country expansion now includes, for example, the Russian cellular phone network, which is one of the largest in the world,” said DIMOCO do-founder and Chief Executive Officer Gerald Tauchner. “This will offer our customers some very exciting business opportunities.

“With this expansion, we now reach an additional 313 million mobile subscribers,” he added. We’re well on the way to achieving global coverage with our DIMOCO hub.”

The company recently announced a 261-percent increase in its mobile payment transaction volume for virtual goods between September 2010 and September 2011. Tauchner attributed the increase to “continuous technological development and the creation of new business models.”

“Mobile operator payment has become one of the most popular forms of micropayment billing,” he said. “The advantages lie first and foremost in the huge mobile population, a simple payment method that doesn’t require additional registration, and widespread user acceptance. As a result, companies such as online media, app developers, online dating providers or those in the new business areas of browser games and social networks are seeing increases in conversions.”
