European Digital Adult Industry to Reach €1.8 Billion in 2019

DIMOCOphone2_650VIENNA – The European digital adult industry is expected to generate 1.8 billion euros in revenue by 2019, according to a new report from carrier billing and mobile messaging company DIMOCO and marketing analytics firm Juniper Research. The prediction for 2015 is 1.7 billion euros.

Of the 2019 figure, about 306.8 million euros will be paid via carrier billing, the report notes.

“Adult digital content purchases are often higher in value and typically subscription-based,” said DIMOCO co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Gerald Tauchner. “Carrier billing does not require registration, which makes it an attractive payment option for the digital adult content industry, especially from an anonymity perspective.

“With an increasing number of smartphones, tablets and smart-TVs, the digital adult content industry is looking for a payment option which is available for multiple screens,” he added, noting a seamless payment experience designed for all digital channels is a must for subscription services.

As part of The European Summit, DIMOCO will host a happy hour networking event beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in the main bar at the Parkhotel Praha. Company representatives will attend to discuss the latest mobile market trends.

“Carrier billing is the number one digital payment method in reach,” Tauchner said. “Increased conversion rates of up to 60 percent over credit card billing can be realized with carrier billing. This is what the entertainment industry is asking for and why we are happy to be present at the leading entertainment industry conference.”
