‘Men’s Health’: Indian Men Lead Disappointing Sex Lives

SunnyLeoneNEW DELHI – Usually, when a men’s magazine does a survey about sex, the magazine hopes to discover its readers are getting lots of action. If this was the case for the international magazine Men’s Health, the strategy backfired big time in India.

According to the Men’s Health Global Sex Survey 2013, published in the September issue of editions worldwide, the average Indian man has sex less often than once a week and finds sex toys intimidating.

This same average adult Indian male “figures in the bottom half of the lot when it comes to the number of his sex partners,” according to Men’s Health India, which isolated the data most relevant to its readers. “He has three, compared to the 11 of a Croat, or a Greek man’s score of [nine].” Adding insult to injury, “[48] per cent of men in India think their partners fake orgasms.”

The survey included 50,796 participants from 30 countries, making it “by far the largest survey of its kind in the world,” according to the publishing group India Today, corporate parent of the Indian edition of Men’s Health.

For reasons known only to India Today’s brass, the magazine continued kicking its readers while they were down by drawing comparisons to men in other countries.

According to the survey’s results, Dutch men “have the hottest sex of them all. The Netherlands is perhaps the only country where men offer more foreplay than their women want,” Men’s Health India noted. In addition, Croats “are public-sex pros: pools, hot tubs, fields, parks, cars; any place is good enough for a romp.”

Of course, India leads in some areas, too.

“Our women are nearly six times as likely as American women to have done the deed in a taxi,” the magazine revealed.

Jamal Shaikh, editorial director for Men’s Health India, indicated the magazine wasn’t being mean-spirited. In fact, the editors had a specific goal in mind when publishing the survey’s results.

“We have tried to examine how men from different parts of the world are better than others in certain aspects of sex and relationships, and then tell you how to learn and improve,” Shaikh said.
