Playboy Launches Web App for iPad

YNOT EUROPEPlayboy founder Hugh Hefner has made every issue of the iconic men’s magazine available on the iPad, despite iPad developer Apple’s notorious aversion to adult content.

Hefner’s crew circumvented the Apple App Store’s ban on porn by developing a web-based application that requires no download. Users may access every issue of Playboy published since 1953 via a web interface located at i.Playboy.com. For a cost of $8 monthly or $60 annually, consumers receive unlimited access.

Coded in HTML5, the site is compatible with most browsers, including including desktop versions. In addition to Playboy‘s published material, the site includes ancillary images, high-definition video, illustrations and more comprising more than 130,000 pages of content.
