YNOT EUROPE – The porn business is attracting more attention from some Spanish television channels, which do not hesitate to devote not only a few minutes but even an entire program to shedding a realistic light on the sector. The channel Cuatro took the latter approach with a program entitled Rich Thanks to Porn.

Narrated by Jon Sistiaga, the program attempts to show the situation consumers rarely see, with particular emphasis on free consumption of porn on the net and how it affects adult companies.

Prominent names in the Spanish industry are featured throughout, including producers Salvador and Victor Diago of IFG, actors Nacho Vidal and Max Cortés, and actresses Sophie Evans, Olga Cabaeva and Samia Duarte.

However, far from examining only the reality of the Spanish market, Sistiaga also reports how the same problems affect large companies across the Atlantic. The journalist traveled to Porn Valley, where he sought the opinion of American actors including Lexington Steele, John Stagliano and the Spaniard Marco Banderas, who performs in both Los Angeles and his native country.

The result is an hour-long look at how the adult industry has evolved in recent years: the decline of demand, the strength of video-chat services and the dramatic drop in DVD sales. Still, production of new material does not stop — every day hundreds of new scenes are recorded.
